From classical guitar to shipping apps, roughly in order
Before code
2012
Started a music degree at UFSJ in Brazil, studying classical guitar. No code anywhere in sight, unless you count sheet music as a programming language.
2014
Wrapped up my time at UFSJ with a head full of music perception, music history and a lot of hours of practice. That last habit turned out to be the transferable one.
Finding software
Pre-2022
Working as a CNC operator and stock controller, I got tired of hunting for product information by hand. So I built a Django web app to do it for me: quick product lookups and staff order requests. The first time software solved a problem that was actually mine.
Pre-2022
Worked through HarvardX assignments, including an auction site built with Django and plain JavaScript. Hooked.
2022
Joined the La Fosse FutureProof traineeship from June to October: Kotlin, Java, Android, JavaScript, React and React Native. Mobile stuck.
2022
Started a BSc in Computer Systems Analysis and Development at Universidade Cruzeiro do Sul, studying alongside the job.
MWX
2022
Joined MWX in Sevenoaks as a full stack engineer. A core team of three, reporting directly to the CEO, and I became the sole mobile developer across every product.
2022
Started on Flix Premiere, a film streaming platform on web, mobile and smart TV: React Native features for the app, Node.js microservices for content delivery.
2022
Took on Entrepreneur Seminar as its sole developer, from the Next.js frontend through to backend infrastructure and deployment.
2024
Became the sole developer of the warpSpeed React Native app, owning architecture, releases and production support on iOS and Android.
2024 – now
Shipped five OAuth integrations, streaming AI responses, a push and deep-linking architecture, and OTA updates that get fixes to users in hours. Also learned more about Xcode build failures than I ever wanted to.
2025
Finished the BSc. Three years of studying alongside the job, done.
On my own
Now
Zapem, my WhatsApp AI agent platform for small Brazilian service businesses, is live on the App Store and Google Play. Built and shipped solo, store submissions included.
Now
Built the website for Pousada Mirante Serra da Canastra with Next.js and Payload CMS, so the owner can update it without me.
